Course Overview
The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) highlights your ability to identify and assess project risks, mitigate threats and capitalize on opportunities.
It acknowledges the individual’s unique expertise on the project team while demonstrating the recognition and value the role provides to the project management profession. In this role, an individual has more competence in the specialized area of assessing and identifying project risks while mitigating threats and capitalizing on opportunities than a general practitioner and yet, also maintains a basic level of competence in all areas of project management.
Employers can trust certification holders to possess the skills, knowledge and experience to contribute directly to their crucial projects. This global certification also supports individuals in meeting organizational needs; organizations can be confident in hiring capable, experienced project risk management practitioners as well as having a means for a career development path.
This course will help participants to prepare for PMI-RMP examination. After the 4 days course and with some self-review, participants will be equipped with adequate knowledge to prepare themselves for the exam.

Course Objectives
This course will enable participants to:

Pre-requisites
The PMI-RMP course is designed for professionals with prior experience in risk assessment, project execution, or strategic planning. While no prior certification is required, participants will benefit most if they have:
- Fundamental Knowledge of Project Risk Management – Understanding of risk identification, qualitative & quantitative analysis, and mitigation planning.
- Experience in Risk-Intensive Projects – Prior exposure to projects with high uncertainty, dependencies, or regulatory constraints.
- Familiarity with Risk Management Frameworks & Tools – Knowledge of risk registers, Monte Carlo simulations, decision tree analysis, and risk response strategies.
- Experience with Project Management & Risk Tools – Hands-on exposure to Microsoft Project, Primavera, Jira, RiskyProject, or similar tools.
- Awareness of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) – Understanding of financial, operational, cybersecurity, and regulatory risks affecting projects.
PMI’s Formal PMI-RMP Exam Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP®) certification, candidates must meet one of the following experience and education requirements:
Option A:
- High school diploma, secondary school diploma, or global equivalent
- 36 months (3 years) of project risk management experience within the last 5 years
- 40 hours of formal project risk management education/training
Option B:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (or global equivalent)
- 24 months (2 years) of project risk management experience within the last 5 years
- 30 hours of formal project risk management education/training
Option C (For GAC-Accredited Programs):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (or global equivalent) from a PMI GAC-accredited program
- 12 months (1 year) of project risk management experience within the last 5 years
- 30 hours of formal project risk management education/training
By completing this course, you will fulfill a significant portion of required risk management education hours needed for PMI-RMP exam eligibility.
Pre-Course Preparation (Recommended but Optional)
- Review the PMI Risk Management Standard to understand global best practices in project risk management.
- Familiarise yourself with key risk analysis techniques (Monte Carlo simulation, sensitivity analysis, risk probability impact matrix).
- Explore sample PMI-RMP exam questions to understand the exam structure and question difficulty.
- For beginners, completing Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) before enrolling in PMI-RMP training is recommended to build foundational project management knowledge.

This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform. Participants must own a Zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. This can be downloaded from https://zoom.us/download.
