WSQ Display Critical Thinking and Analytical Skills powered by Wiley, aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills to think smarter by applying logical inquiry methodologies to common business problems. Upon completion of this course, you will have developed higher-order thinking processes that result in better problem solving, decision making and creative recommendations to stakeholders.
- The course emphasises the values of WSH in the organisation and the legal responsibilities of the Chief Executive/Board of Directors and root cause analysis of top incident types.

Course Objectives
At the end of the programme, you will be able to:

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand why his/her business should be interested in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH);
- Know what resources or information his/her company can tap on to build its WSH capabilities; and
- Know what actions he/she can take to improve the WSH processes in his/her company

Pre-requisites
Recommended minimum English proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualifications (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy Level 4.
- The participant should be a Chief Executive (or equivalent)/ Board Director who is responsible for WSH in the company.
- The program is also suitable for staff who are keen to know more about WSH.
Course Outline
Unit 1: Understand and Develop Critical Thinking Mindset
- Differences between critical and automatic thinking
- Using a process framework to think more critically
- Applying facts and observations to determine the credibility of information
- Analysing credibility of information through consistency of experience
Unit 2: Find the Right Problem
- Identifying the real business issue or goal using tools
- Using a process framework to think more critically
- Helping staff to contribute and adapt to changes at the workplace
- Reading between the lines
- Speaking and listening more critically
- Interpreting ideas and using them to identify problems using outside-the-box thinking
Unit 3: Solve the Problem
- Problem-solving skills
- Improve creativity by using out-of-the-box thinking and impossible thinking
- Reduce creativity barriers by using clarity tools
- Recognising issues and implications
Unit 4: Execute the Solution
- Influencing and persuading stakeholders
- Identifying various stakeholders and understanding their needs
- Aligning solutions and recommendations through a corporate vision
- Rethinking ideas and making creative solutions through out-of-the-box thinking
- Identifying business ideas and how to improve on them by using critical thinking

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by
Participants who have successfully demonstrated competence in all the knowledge and skills requirements in this programme will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment (SOA) by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). This programme is offered on a modular basis only.
- Mapped to WSQ Display Critical Thinking and Analytical Skills
• Upon meeting 100% attendance and completion of the WSH Policy, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion/Attendance from NTUC LearningHub Pte Ltd. • With effect from 1 April 2024, only CEOs or Board of Directors will be issued with the Certificate of Completion which can be used to apply for bizSAFE Level 1 certification with the WSH Council to start the bizSAFE journey. • The other learners will be issued with the Certificate of Attendance and this certificate will not be able to be used for bizSAFE level 1 certification with WSHC.
