Course Outline
Introduction to Robotics & Devices:
- Identify and classify the different types of robots & their mechanisms in preparation for the selection of robots for usage in different applications in manufacturing or other sectors.
The trend of Robotics for Automation:
- Apply the knowledge of robotics trends used in different applications with their definition and classification to select the appropriate robots for a specified application.
Features & Functions of Robots:
- Work with direct kinematics transfer and workspaces of robots based on the robot’s components, degrees of freedom, joints, coordinates, reference frames and workspaces.
Principles of Path & Trajectory:
- To design and build a robot for specified paths & trajectories for robots to be used in manufacturing or other application.
Principles of Motion Planning:
- Work on Motion Planning in the design and build of a robot for a specified point-to-point motion for a robot to be used in manufacturing or other application.
Programming of the Robots:
- How to program (coding) a robot for point-to-point movement and path to be utilized in manufacturing settings or applications in other sectors.
Design, Build and code a robot :
- Participants will either build a 5-Axis Robotic Arm with given U-Kit and then code, debug & deploy the 5-Axis Robotic Arm to perform a “Pick & Place” operation with a given payload from a location to another with precision; OR
- build an Autonomous Vehicle with given U-Kit and then code, debug & deploy the Autonomous Vehicle to follow a track carrying a given payload from a location to another with other prescribed motion action needed.
