Course Overview

This course covers how data is linked and modelled in Power BI and create visual reports that allows the analysis of an organisation’s data to uncover insights and trends. Although the Power BI desktop client will be the primary focus, an introduction to the Power BI web app will also be provided. Learners will be able to consume and transform data using the Power BI desktop application, create models from raw data sources and configure Dashboards.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:

1. Work with Data to transform and sanitize data, use the query editor, model data and manage relationships

2. Create interactive dashboard that allow stakeholder to filter information

3. Work with charts, such as maps, tree map for display of information

4. Present and share of finished dashboard using Power BI Web App

Pre-requisites

Prior to attending this course, learners should have the skills, knowledge and experience of:

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system and its core functionality
Working knowledge of relational databases
Advanced knowledge of Excel using formulas, charts, filtering, sorting, and sub-totals

Laptop with Microsoft Windows 10 (8GB RAM minimum) installed (MAC not supported). This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform. Participants must have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. This can be downloaded from https://zoom.us/download
