Course Overview

This course will address the needs of leaders in being equipped to direct end-to end change management in their organisations. This includes the ability to identify where changes are needed in the organisation, such as customer management, processes and systems, people engagement, information management, innovation and learning. They would also need to be able to develop change management strategies and foster an environment that enables change effectively. Leaders would also need to play an active role in communicating and implementing the change, then evaluating and refining the strategies and improving their own ability in leading change.

Course Objectives

At the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • review organisational systems, processes and policies to identify areas for change management
  • develop change management strategy and create an environment for change management
  • implement change management strategy by communicating to get buy-in, sponsoring change management programmes and initiatives
  • evaluate and refine change management strategy, demonstrate openness to feedback, improve own capability by reflection and learning

Pre-requisites

Participants should be able to speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level not lower than the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 3.

Course Outline

Unit 1: Identifying areas for change management

  • Know the individual role in contributing to change management as a strategic business partner
  • Know the enablers of change
  • Know the components of organisational readiness assessment
  • Review organisational systems, processes and policies to identify areas of improvement for appropriate change management programmes and initiatives

Unit 2: Developing change management strategy

  • Know the components and objectives of change management implementation plans
  • Know the components of change management programme plans and change management process
  • Develop change management strategy and programmes in consultation with management for implementation
  • Create a conducive environment to facilitate change management

Unit 3: Implementing change management strategy

  • Know the communication strategies to promote change
  • Sponsor change management programmes and initiatives to gain buy-in from relevant stakeholders
  • Implement change management strategy in accordance with implementation plans to achieve change management objectives

Unit 4: Evaluating and refining change management strategy

  • Monitor, evaluate and refine change management strategy and programmes to meet desired organisational outcomes
  • Demonstrate empathy and openness to feedback to encourage stakeholders to embrace change and provide feedback on change management process
  • Engage in self-reflection to identify areas for improvement in directing end-to-end change management
  • Improve own capability in directing end-to-end change management by subscribing to diverse learning channels and discussion platforms to enhance workplace performance

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

Participants who have successfully demonstrated competence in all the knowledge and skills requirements in this programme will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment (SOA) by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). This programme is offered on a modular basis only.
