Course Objectives

This course equips the security personnel with knowledge and skills to conduct operation briefing prior to the commencement of an operation and conduct a post-event debriefing.

Pre-requisites

These are the admission requirements:

  • Have at least a lower secondary educational certification
  • Participants with the following competency ratings from the Employability Skills are eligible:
    • Listening/Speaking   Min. Level 6
    • Reading/Writing   Min. Level 6
    • Numeracy  Min Level 5

Course Outline

Prepare operation briefing

  • Prepare operation briefing & debriefing according to organisational procedures
  • Notify security personnel required to be briefed in advance
  • Preparing briefing venue according to briefing requirements & organisational procedures
  • Prepare presentation notes in line with security assignment operation instructions
  • Follow the format of operations order used in uniformed services to carry out operation briefing & debriefing
  • Familiarise with details of operations before commencement of briefing session

Conduct operation briefing session

  • Display appropriate personal grooming & attire according to organisational procedures
  • Prepare to conduct operation briefing session
  • Conduct operation briefing session to security personnel in attendance according to organisational procedures
  • Presentation is carried out in an appropriate manner
  • Conclude operation briefing session according to organisational procedures
  • Follow up & brief those security personnel who are not in attendance during the briefing session

Conduct operation debriefing session

  • Inform all relevant security personnel to be briefed
  • Prepare for operation debriefing session according to organisational procedures
  • Conduct operation debriefing session to security personnel in attendance according to organisational procedures
  • Handle dialogue session with security personnel in an appropriate manner where order prevails
  • Conclude operation debriefing session
  • Notifying relevant department or personnel where necessary follow-up actions are required
  • Follow up & brief those security personnel who are not in attendance during the post operation debriefing session

Reinstate briefing venue

  • Reinstate presentation equipment & accessories according to organisational procedures
  • Report any defects or faulty equipment according to organisational procedures
  • Restore briefing venue to its original state

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) will be issued for each module graded competent. SOA reflected as –
