At the end of the course, you will have a good understanding of how to act as safety assessors for the purpose of hot-work certification in shipyards.

Pre-requisites

You must have a Technical Diploma from an approved technical college

or
(i) ESS WPLN 6 OR O Level English Grade 6 & O Level Maths Grade 6
AND 
(ii) WSH Skills & Knowledge equivalent to Advanced Certificate in WSH OR 4 years of relevant working experience in operations and coordination of safety work.

  • WSH Act and Related Legislations
  • Accident Prevention Principles
  • Chemistry of Fires and Explosions
  • Gas Meters
  • Safety Practices during Cleaning and Repairs of Tankers
  • Operations and Inspections of Tankers and Other Vessels
  • Gas-Free Inspections & Hot-Work Certification
  • Permit-to-Work Systems
  • Occupational Health

Practical Module (Compulsory):

  • Gas-Cutting and Arc-Welding
  • Use, Calibration and Maintenance of Gas Meters
  • Hot-work Certification

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

Results will be released 10 working days after course ends. Upon completion of the course and passing the examination, an
e-Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and a Safety Pass from NTUC LearningHub will be awarded to you.
