Who Should Attend

Shipyard/Marine Industry Supervisor, Clerk-of-work, foreman, site engineer, WSH Coordinator, WSH Supervisor or individuals who undertake the role of a supervisor in the marine industry.

Course Overview

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Explain and interpret salient WSH legislations and other requirements relevant to the marine industry
  • Describe WSH duties and responsibilities of a supervisor in marine industry
  • Conduct briefings on shipyard general safety and explain the Vessel Safety Coordination Committee (VSCC) and Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedure to shipyard workers and contractors
  • Identify WSH hazards including personal health issues, evaluate and control risks in marine industry in accordance with risk management process
  • Carry out WSH inspections in accordance with organisational inspection procedure
  • Conduct incident investigations and prepare reports in accordance with legal and other organisational requirements
