Mode of Assessment

To take the official Prince2 Practitioner Certificate Exam, you need to have either one of the following official certifications: Prince2 Foundation, Project Management Professional, or Certified Associate in Project Management. After completing the course and with one of the above certifications, students can proceed to undertake the Prince2 Practitioner Certificate Exam.

After students have paid for the certification examination(s), they will receive a printed instruction voucher or email instructions during the class period to allow them to book the relevant computer-based examination for their course (e.g. exam 77-418: Word 2013 Core for students taking Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS): Word 2013).

With effect from 1st November 2019,  it is mandatory for participants attending “NICF – PRINCE2 6th Edition Practitioner in Project Management (SF)” course to pay for official certification exam before commencement of the class.

Managing projects is a challenging thing to do as it often involves people, organisations and resources and possibly in new, unfamiliar and unpredictable environment to creating new products and services. This course provides an overview of the PRINCE2 principles, themes and processes to help you manage risks, quality, changes and check throughout the project that the business case remains valid, on track and have been met.

The course material is based on the best practices documented in the book, Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 2017 Edition, which lists the essential knowledge and processes to effectively manage projects in controlled environment to meet the objectives. The project principles covered in this course leads to earning a professional credential known as PRINCE2 Practitioner certification, accredited by AXELOS.

  • Understand the starting up a project process and the activities responsible for appointing the executive and project manager and preparing the project brief and planning the initiation stage
  • Understand the directing a project process and the activities responsible for authorising initiation, project, a stage or exception plan and project closure.
  • Understand the initiating a project process and the activities responsible for preparing the risk management, configuration management, quality management and communication management strategies, creating the project plan and the project initiation documentation
  • Understand the controlling a stage process and the activities responsible for reviewing work package status, stage status, reporting highlights, capturing and escalating issue and risks and taking corrective action
  • Understand the managing product delivery process and the activities responsible for accepting, executing and delivering a work package
  • Understand the managing a stage boundary process and the activities responsible for planning the next stage, updating the project plan and business case, reporting stage end and producing exception report

Pre-requisites

No credit or certification pre-requisites are required to take this course. However, it is recommended that participants have some project experience and is able to:
