Course Overview
Nothing is more gratifying than looking back at who you are now and realising that you have grown much more than you thought you could. How can you further achieve your highest potential in the area of personal excellence?
We know that those who can first manage themselves will ultimately be able to manage others. Personal effectiveness is the foundation of great management and positive role modelling. Designed in 3 main lessons, learners can acquire skills to empower themselves and take personal responsibility in their own competency development. Through building winning relationships, learners will also recognise the importance of effective communication to successfully engage leaders and team members. They will learn practical approaches to improve their performance in leading their teams during decision making sessions.
Get out of your comfort zone and take the first step in believing in yourself. Based on John Maxwells signature leadership series programmes, insightful and powerful concepts from The 5 Levels of Leadership and The 360 Leader have been included to support the course objectives and enhance your learning journey.

Pre-requisites
Participants should be able to speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level not lower than the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 3.

1. EMPOWER Yourself As A Leader
Choices, actions, and behaviours. How can you be accountable for your own successes? Through boosting personal skill-sets, learners are encouraged to be involved in their organisational policies or practices to develop their own capabilities. They will also recognise the importantance of their roles in influencing others when they demonstrate competence and knowledge in their area of work, as well as their responsibility towards the development of their team members.

2. ENGAGE Your Leader & Your People
Good communication is the foundation and lifeblood in all successful organisations. Learners will identify various communication styles and tactics to ensure that effective communication can take place. Communication barriers will also be addressed. They will learn ways to approach their leader and how they can build winning relationships through the adoption of powerful communication techniques.

3. EXECUTE Team Decision Making
How can you make better decisions with confidence? This lesson enables learners to identify their roles as a leader in making decisions for their team. A simple 4-step process will be introduced allowing easy application in any context. A statistical analysis tool and other practices will be shared with a concluding role-play.

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by
Participants who have successfully demonstrated competence in all the knowledge and skills requirements in this programme will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment (SOA) by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). This programme is offered on a modular basis only.
