Course Overview

Promote effective communication within the team and use appropriate communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to build rapport and relationship with colleagues, stakeholders and customers, as well as resolve conflicts through negotiation while taking diversity issues into consideration.

Course Objectives

On completion of this unit, the participant will be able to perform the following:

  • Communicate organisational communication policies and procedures to staff and monitor their compliance
  • Maintain channels of communication to update staff on latest and relevant work-related information according to organisational communication policies and procedures
  • Promote effective communication among staff taking into account diversity issues
  • Use appropriate communication techniques and tools to suit different communication styles of people in formal and informal settings
  • Assess conflict situation and develop appropriate conflict resolution strategies
  • Resolve conflict using appropriate conflict resolution strategies, approaches and techniques

 

Hybrid Team

On completion of this unit, the participant will be able to perform the following:

  1. Communicate new norms in organisational communication policies and procedures to staff and monitor their compliance
  2. Maintain channels of communication to update staff on latest and relevant work-related information according to organisational communication policies and procedures
  3. Promote effective communication among staff working in a hybrid workplace, taking into account diversity issues
  4. Use appropriate communication techniques and digital tools to suit different communication styles of people in formal and informal setting
  5. Assess conflict situation and develop appropriate conflict resolution strategies
  6. Resolve conflict using appropriate conflict resolution strategies, approaches and techniques for both physical and virtual environments

Funding Eligibility Criteria:

  • Trainee must achieve at least 75% attendance
  • Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
  • NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria

  • NTUC Members can enjoy up to 50% funding (capped at $250 per year) under Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)

Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding:

  • $4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year
  • AP funding will be computed based on the actual number of training hours attended by the trainee
  • Note: Courses / Modules under Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) will not be eligible for AP funding claim.
