Who Should Attend

The WSQ cleaning aims to help workers in the cleaning industry obtain the fundamental skills and equip them with the basic knowledge of cleaning for their specific environment.

Course Overview

On completion of this module, the participant will be equipped with the necessary and relevant knowledge and skill sets in recognising and differentiating different types of furniture and furnishing materials. Participants will be equipped with the skill sets in conducting colour fastness test and use appropriate tools and equipment to polish different types of furniture and furnishings.

Clear and Wash Apron and Concealed Drains

  • Identify different types of tools, equipment, materials and protective equipment required for clearing and washing apron and concealed drains
  • Classify different types of working environment

Clear and Wash Apron Gullies and Floor Traps

  • Identify different types of tools, equipment, materials and protective equipment required for clearing and washing apron gullies and floor traps
  • Identify chokes

Clean Lift Landings and Lift Cars

  • Identify different types of stubborn stains
  • Learn how to select and use different types of materials, tools, and equipment to remove stubborn stains
  • Clean different types of lift car surfaces

Perform Sweeping, Mopping and Litter Picking

  • Identify different types of tools, equipment, and materials to be used for sweeping, mopping and litter picking
  • Identify the areas which require cleaning
  • Learn about different types of working environments

Perform Damp Cloth Wiping, Stand Bin Clearing, and Removal of Stubborn stains

  • Identify various types of tools, equipment, materials and protective equipment required for performing damp cloth wiping, stand bin clearing and removal of stubborn stains
  • Identify the areas which require cleaning
  • Learn about different types of working environments

Reinstate work area

  • Inspect the work site for cleanliness and completion of job
  • Check for damages on all equipment and tools
  • Recording of work activities

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

  • Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)
  • Certificate of Attendance from NTUC LearningHub

  • Trainee must achieve at least 75% attendance
  • Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
  • NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria

SkillsFuture Credit: 

  • Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fee payable after funding.

UTAP: 

  • This course is eligible for Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP).
  • NTUC members can enjoy up to 50% funding (capped at $250 per year) under UTAP. 

PSEA: 

  • Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) funds to offset course fees payable after funding.
